Jacqueline Prouse was born in Dublin and spent her early years there before moving to Scotland for 14 years. She eventually returned to Ireland and now resides in County Meath. Her passion for drawing began in childhood, offering a creative escape and a way to express herself. Winning Art Student of the Year in secondary school confirmed her talent, but it took years before she could fully pursue her artistic dreams.

After working abroad in the disability sector, Jacqueline developed a deep longing for Ireland, which greatly influences her work today. Her art is a celebration of Irish culture, history, and landscapes, capturing nostalgia and heritage in every brushstroke.☘️

Jacqueline specialises in detailed illustrations, primarily using watercolour, charcoal, ink, coloured pencil, acrylic, and soft pastel. Her collections include The Rare Irish Wagon Collection, Equine and Farm Collection, and Botanical Collection. Each piece is rich in storytelling, incorporating folklore, historical landmarks, and nostalgic imagery. Her delicate linework, vibrant colour palettes, and meticulous attention to detail bring Ireland’s essence to life.☘️

The Inspiration Behind My Rare Irish Wagons ☘️🇮🇪🍀

Ireland’s stunning landscapes and deep-rooted traditions have long inspired artists. From rolling green hills to dramatic coastlines, each county holds a unique story. My Rare Irish Wagons illustrate these histories, evoking nostalgia and pride. Each wagon reflects Ireland’s folklore, heritage, and charm, from the Cliffs of Moher to the Giant’s Causeway. These aren’t just paintings; they are visual tributes to Irish identity.☘️

Creating These Signature Pieces ☘️🇮🇪

I began the Rare Irish Wagon Collection in 2022 with the Rare Dublin Wagon. Since then, I’ve carefully crafted wagons representing all 32 counties. Every piece is the result of extensive research, sketching, and painting—taking about 90 hours to complete. Watercolours help bring these scenes to life with their fluidity and vibrant tones.☘️

Before painting, I spend a considerable amount of time researching, visiting libraries, exploring locations, and gathering insights. Once satisfied, I move on to sketching, refining each composition before applying colour. This immersive process allows me to create works filled with intricate details and hidden stories.

Farm & Botanical Art ☘️🎨

Beyond my wagon collection, I create lifelike portraits of Irish farm animals, capturing their personality and spirit in a variety of mediums. From the gentle gaze of a dairy cow to the strength of a horse, my work reflects a deep appreciation for farm life. Additionally, my botanical pieces highlight the vibrant beauty of Irish flora, using soft pastels to emphasize delicate textures and light.☘️
