In Irish folklore, An Bó Bheannaithe is a mystical cow said to have emerged from the Otherworld, bringing abundance wherever she wandered. Known for her gentle nature and sacred presence, she provided endless milk to those in need, symbolising sustenance, fertility, and divine generosity. Often associated with the land’s bounty and revered in ancient Celtic traditions, her spirit endures in stories that celebrate harmony between nature and humanity.

Painted using professional grade charcoal, with deep blacks, rich textures, and dramatic contrasts, my charcoal artwork evokes raw emotion and atmosphere, drawing the viewer into its moody and expressive storytelling.☘️

I've been developing a new technique using charcoal on canvas, as well as a combination of charcoal and soft pastel on canvas. This process involves multiple layers of specialised coatings, each carefully applied to enhance depth and texture. The final artwork is sealed with two coats of varnish, creating a soft, refined appearance while also providing a protective finish. This protective layer mimics the durability of an oil painting, ensuring the piece remains resilient over time.☘️
