Liath Macha Original- SOLD - Prints Available
In Irish mythology, Liath Macha was one of the two legendary grey horses gifted to the hero Cúchulainn by the goddess Macha of the Morrígan. Born from the mystical waters of Linn Liaith, Liath Macha was famed for unparalleled speed, strength, and loyalty. Only Cúchulainn could tame this powerful steed, who remained steadfast to him even in death—a symbol of courage and the unbreakable bond between horse and rider in Celtic lore. 🍀
This painting is part of my Equine and Farm Collection, created using a distinctive technique with charcoal on canvas, enhanced with soft pastel for tonal richness and subtle layering. Multiple coats of carefully prepared surface treatments build texture and depth, while two layers of protective varnish seal the final work, leaving a soft, refined sheen and ensuring long-term durability—much like an oil painting.
Professionally framed in a high-quality wood tray frame that complements the earthy textures of the artwork, this piece is designed to captivate and elevate any space.
