Among Wexford’s notable figures is John Barry (1745-1803), an officer in the US Navy and often credited as ‘The Father of the American Navy’ 🇮🇪🇺🇸. His remarkable story is well worth exploring. Another prominent Wexford native is Min Ryan, a member of Cumann na mBan who participated in the Easter Rising of 1916 and the War of Independence. In her honour, the state-of-the-art Min Ryan Park was opened in 2020.☘️
