I thoroughly enjoy creating and illustrating each county wagon, and I feel a real connection with each one, likely due to the hours I spend researching them. I particularly loved discovering the beauty and tranquillity of County Roscommon.🍀

Roscommon is a county of castles, ancient kings, stately homes, and breathtaking landscapes. With its mythical history, Roscommon offers more than just tales of warriors. It’s an adventure playground for outdoor enthusiasts eager to explore its hills, valleys, and waterways. Visit Lough Key Forest Park, where you can enjoy lush meadows, walking paths, picnic grounds, and 12th-century abbey ruins. The park provides great fun with activities like zip-lining, kayaking, Boda Borg, boating tours, and scenic walking trails.🍀

Roscommon is also notable for being the birthplace of Ireland’s first president, Douglas Hyde, who served from 1938 to 1945. Actor and comedian Chris O'Dowd, known for co-creating “Moone Boy” and starring in numerous films, was born in Boyle, County Roscommon.🍀

While you’re there, don’t miss the Arigna Mining Experience, where history is brought to life or a visit to Roscommon’s Black Donkey Brewery, an award-winning Irish craft brewery.

County Roscommon is definitely worth a visit.☘️
