Waterford, also known as “The Crystal County,” is located in the southeast of Ireland. Founded by Vikings in 914 AD, Waterford city is Ireland’s oldest, with parts of its ancient walls still visible. You can discover remnants of its Viking past throughout the city by exploring the Waterford Viking Triangle and visiting the preserved landmarks of the Viking settlement.☘️

Waterford also holds historical significance as the first county in Ireland to fly the Irish tricolor flag in 1848, thanks to Waterford man and Irish American Patriot Thomas Francis Meagher.🍀

Globally renowned for its Waterford Crystal, the county began crystal production in 1783. Be sure to visit the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre to see the world’s largest crystal display.☘️

County Waterford offers a wealth of activities and festivals that highlight its natural beauty and vibrant local culture.
