Draìochta (Of Magic) - Original Artwork
Draiochta, meaning “of magic” in Irish, draws its spirit from the deep well of Irish folklore, where the veil between worlds is thin and enchantment runs through the land like mist over heathered hills. In ancient tales, horses were not just noble beasts but bearers of otherworldly power — able to cross seas, time, and the bounds of life and death. Draiochta embodies this mystical legacy, echoing the enchanted steeds of Tír na nÓg, guardians of secrets and soul-bound companions to heroes and goddesses alike. With every glance, she carries the shimmer of a hidden realm.– Charcoal & Soft Pastel Portrait"
I've been developing a new technique using charcoal on canvas, as well as a combination of charcoal and soft pastel on canvas. This process involves multiple layers of specialised coatings, each carefully applied to enhance depth and texture. The final artwork is sealed with two coats of varnish, creating a soft, refined appearance while also providing a protective finish. This protective layer mimics the durability of an oil painting, ensuring the piece remains resilient over time.☘️
